The future of the church is really in flux these days. What has been is changing rapidly and what tomorrow will bring nobody knows! The church must be ready to respond to the changing times with the Gospel which is true no matter what age, but in the language of the culture it finds itself, not the culture it wishes were still here.

Great video, Steve….I think one of the key statements was this:
“People are leaving the traditional church in order to preserve their faith.”
I hope that where we are going as a church will buck that trend. I think Toby’s message yesterday really reflects the heart of what this video is talking about…”How can I help you?” We have to start thinking of church in terms of a lifestyle and not just what we take in on Sundays before the football games. Christianity is not a part-time commitment, nor is it a spectator sport. We are called to be in ministry to one another, not to consume ministry on Sunday mornings.
What’s critical to this, though, is where he started — It’s all about attitude! What is our attitude about visitors, those seeking God but don’t know how, and our commitment to serve God and one another.
I believe our lives are guided by one of two questions:
(1) How can I help you?
(2) What’s in it for me?
So what kind of church are we now and what kind of church does God require of us?
