A Brewed Awakening: The Critical Question
God Is the Gospel: Meditations on God's Love as the Gift of Himself
>> What's is the purpose of Heaven?
>> Is Heaven a place you end up by default when you die?
>> How do you communicate your desire to be in Heaven or Hell?
>> Are you being drawn to pursue Heaven or driven by fear from Hell?
“The critical question for our generation—and for every generation— is this: If you could have heaven, with no sickness, and with all the friends you ever had on earth, and all the food you ever liked, and all the leisure activities you ever enjoyed, and all the natural beauties you ever saw, all the physical pleasures you ever tasted, and no human conflict or any natural disasters, could you be satisfied with heaven, if Christ were not there?” ― John Piper,
Would this location described by Piper be heaven if Christ were not there?
Is it the things and the people in a locale that makes it a heaven? Or is it Christ’s Presence that makes some place, any place heaven?
Am I to hope and wish for earth and all that I have known here to be replicated in heaven; or am I, and, more importantly, should I expect, should I anticipate, should I look forward to more, much more being in heaven than I have experienced here on earth?
Should I not only think outside the box but be willing to and be excited about living and being outside the box in heaven?
I don’t want to be in a locale called by the name “heaven” if Christ is not there; for me it is being in relationship with and in the Presence of Christ that matters the utmost to me; all the other amenities are just gingerbread.
