The Art of Knowing What You Know
"A person who knows not and knows not that he knows not is stupid, avoid them. A person who knows not and knows that he knows not is to be pitied, help them. A person who knows and knows not that he knows is asleep. awaken them. A person who knows and knows that he knows is wise, follow them."
"Stupid is as stupid does!" by Forrest Gump "If you love learning, you love the discipline that goes with it. How shortsighted (stupid) to refuse correction!" (Proverbs 12:1) Insanity is doing the same things over and over and expecting different results.
Help is on the way! What a powerful thing to awakening to the reality that (1) something needs to change and (2) the hope exists that it can change. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" 2 Cor 5:17
Blessed but bored. This describes what prosperity does to people. We have all we could possible want or imagine, we are the envy of the rest of the world, and we access to more education than we can possibly consume, yet we are comfortably numb. What is the point of your life, gifts and time on this earth? Do you know? "You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober." 1 Thess 5:5-6
We are Disciples! A disciple is, in a real sense, not a finished product; rather it is a lifelong endeavor of becoming. Disciples do not graduate from being a disciple. Disciples do not go on to greater things, although they may do great things. A disciple is one who commits his life to follow a master. A disciple commits his life to learning all that the master has to teach, doing all the master has shown how to do, and sharing all the master has given to share. A disciple serves as one under authority, the authority of the Master, and will remain under authority of the master, as long as he/she remains a disciple.
"Jesus promised his disciples three things - that they would be completely fearless, absurdly happy and in constant trouble." — G. K. Chesterton

What a thought!
…and what a smile and an out-loud laugh the last item in the series — “in constant trouble” — elicited from me.
How true, Mr. Chesterton, how true!
…but…I can’t help but wonder if the thought that disciples are “in constant trouble” is not what causes some people to choose not to “Come, follow Him” because they only want to be “consumers” rather than the “contributors,” who would have to do that which would keep them “in constant trouble.”
